The first exhibition of paintings by the 10-year-old autistic boy Maxim Brovchenko was opened on the 27th of October at the Kyiv Municipal Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet for Children and Youth. The young artist presented 50 pictures at the exhibition. Maxim was called a ‘little Ukrainian Picasso’ by Ukrainian media. The organizer of the event was ‘Child with Future’ Foundation, which works on autism in Ukraine systematically and cares for the schoolboy’s talent. 

Kosmo Max, as he called himself, told about his cosmic pictures, shared with the history of invented Planet A, about what he writes a fantastic book. Maxim presented two pictures, which he has painted specially for Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX, and Maksim Polyakov, the founder of the American-Ukrainian Firefly Aerospace, which works in rocket science. ‘I always dreamed of meeting Elon Musk and seeing a spaceship launch,’ the boy explained. – And recently I have heard about my namesake Maxim, who was born in our region and builds rockets, and I wanted to create gifts for them. I want their dreams to come true because dreams should come true.’

The head of ‘Child with Future’ Foundation, the ’Autism Europe’ сonsul Inna Sergyenko welcomed Maxim with his first exhibition opening and assured him that the presents will be delivered to the addressees. ‘Maxim has a unique talent and we want him to have the opportunity to develop it and have as many people as possible know about it,’ says Inna Sergeenko. – I am convinced that we, adults, can and must fulfill our children’s dreams. We believe that this exhibition will inspire a lot of children to creativity and imagination, and once again draw the attention of our society on autism.’
